The Supervillains are 7 tracks into the release of their new album Volume 8 . Gearing up for the official release date, Florida’s veteran Reggae-Rock band are releasing one track a week off the Rah Rah Records release until Volume 8 is out in full on April 9th. Find out more about their latest singles inside!
Wanting “this record to sound different than the same tired reggae/rock album that every band in the scene has been doing,” for this project, the group composed several covers and remixes, allowing Volume 8 to spotlight the band’s experimental talent and creativeness.
Really enjoying the creative process of this record the Supervillain crew had fun with it, spending time comfortably in their personal studio, working out pieces they have always wanted to cover. Fans can check out the most recently released single, a version of “Where Is My Mind” originally by the Pixies.
Drummer Dominic Maresco comments “Volume 8 has been so much fun for us because we’ve picked our favorite songs to remix, and cover songs we’ve wanted to do for a long time. It has been fun to work on in our own studio, we had more fun working on this record than most!”
Also available for instant download are 6 more new singles including The Supervillains’ cover of Toots and the Maytals’ “It Must Be True Love” featuring former Supervillains memeber Jonathan ‘Smally’ Cestero as well as remixes of The Supervillains “Bottom of the World” and “Resin” both featuring Jeff Richie formally of The Toasters and Chris King of Orlando’s Control This.
Be sure to check out The Supervillains seventh full-length album, Volume 8, with new singles dropping weekly on iTunes and Spotify.
