Common Kings, a four piece Polynesian Pop/Rock/Reggae/R&B band from Costa Mesa, CA have just kicked off their fall tour that will see the group touring through the end of October. Lets check up on the dates spanning from California to New York and in between.
Common Kings will be on tour with 5th Harmony, the 5-piece all female pop group who will be promoting their debut album Reflection. This tour comes off the heels of sharing the road and stage with Justin Timberlake and Cee-Lo. Unlike most groups performing Reggae-Rock, Common Kings seem to be networking with more commercial artists, helping trail-blaze the reggae fusion sound and awareness to bigger audiences.
The band, comprised of Bass Player Lui Kirimaua (Ivan), Lead Singer Sasualei Maliga (Junyer), Drummer Jerome Taito (Rome), and Lead Guitar Player Taumata Grey (Mata) form Common Kings, who’s name is a nod to the fact that the boys are both proud representatives of their home lands of Samoa, Fiji, Tonga and Hawaii, and everyday guys from Orange County, California trying to live out their dreams.
“We are so thankful and grateful for all the amazing things that have happened from touring with Justin Timberlake, sharing the stage with Cee-Lo and now going on tour with 5th Harmony,” said Junyer. “It’s been an incredible year and we plan on closing it out big thanks to all our amazing fans.”
We hope by ‘closing out the year big’, Junyer is alluding to the release of the groups debut studio album. The group has rumored to be done with a new album as they’re just working out the back-end details before announcing its release date. The group, who is known for dishing out various EPs and singles in the past, have yet to release a full-length studio album. They do have a new single set to drop on Sept 4th, titled “Ain’t No Stopping”. The last music released by the group was last year with the singles “Before You Go” and “Kingdom Come”. They have also collaborated with J Boog in the past on the song “No Other Love” back in 2012.
We’ll provide more details as soon as they’re made available to us. In the meantime look at the tour dates below.
