Two of the most electrifying live acts in the modern jam-roots scene are joining forces this summer. Andy Frasco & The U.N. and Kitchen Dwellers have announced a co-headlining tour set to run throughout August 2026, bringing their high-energy blend of rock, funk, and progressive bluegrass across the Midwest and East Coast.
The run kicks off August 7 in Paw Paw, Michigan and stretches through a series of festival stops, club dates, and amphitheater shows before wrapping August 23 in Westport, Connecticut. Along the way, the tour will feature rotating support from Mihali—best known as the co-founder and frontman of Twiddle—as well as Colorado progressive bluegrass outfit Magoo on select dates.
Artist and local presales begin March 5 at 10 a.m. local time, with the public on-sale launching March 6 at 10 a.m.
For fans of improvisational rock and progressive roots music, the pairing makes perfect sense. Both bands have built reputations not just on records, but on relentless touring and unpredictable live performances.
Frasco, the exuberant frontman of Andy Frasco & The U.N., has spent the better part of the last decade turning concerts into communal celebrations—part rock show, part comedy routine, part chaotic jam session. The band regularly plays more than 200 shows a year, earning a reputation as one of the hardest-working touring acts in the American jam circuit.
Kitchen Dwellers, meanwhile, have become one of the leading voices in progressive bluegrass. The Bozeman-born quartet—Shawn Swain, Torrin Daniels, Joe Funk, and Max Davies—blend traditional string instrumentation with psychedelic textures, expansive improvisation, and storytelling rooted in the landscapes of the American West.a
Earlier in 2026, Frasco released Growing Pains (Deluxe), an expanded edition of his latest album featuring two new songs and acoustic re-recordings captured at Second Nature Vintage in Nashville. Last week he followed it up with the new single “DANCE! DANCE! DANCE!,” inviting fans to join a viral dance challenge under the hashtag #frascodance.
Kitchen Dwellers also recently surprised fans with The Katabatic EP, a three-song release that includes instrumental collaborations with trumpeter Eric “Benny” Bloom of Lettuce. The EP continues the band’s evolution within progressive roots music, expanding their sonic palette while maintaining the tight interplay and atmospheric storytelling that has become their hallmark.
According to Frasco, the tour is as much about camaraderie as it is about the music.
“As touring musicians, we never get the opportunity to hang out with our close friends for more than a couple days because we’re all so busy,” Frasco said in a statement. “On this tour with the Kitchen Dwellers, I get the opportunity to break bread and laugh with people I love and respect on a daily basis.”
Kitchen Dwellers banjoist Torrin Daniels offered a preview of the vibe fans can expect.
“The first time I met Frasco, I watched him shotgun a beer while waterskiing,” Daniels joked. “If that ain’t some midsummer-Chattahoochee energy, I don’t know what is. This tour’s gonna be exactly that—unhinged, irresponsible, rock ’n’ roll.”
