Now that we’re all over the news of the royal baby, we can move our focus to Hawaiian native, Anuhea, and her exciting baby news. Waiting until the last trimester to reveal her news, she announced that her and her boyfriend will be having a boy in early November!
With all the music work that she’s been doing recently, no one would have guessed she was so far along. After releasing her dub styled single “High On Love” this summer, she also released a music video for her song “Only Man in the World” featuring Tarrus Riley. The song is the title track for the Dub Rockers Collaboration album dropping on August 20th. What a busy girl!
Anuhea announced the news on her Facebook and website, with a very personal message:
“IT’S A BOY! My boyfriend and I are excited to announce that we’re going to be HAVING A BABY in early November! We’re SO super thankful for this blessing and appreciate everyone’s support and well wishes. We can’t wait to meet our little musubi!!! Mahalo ke akua! Love Anuhea and Kaimana & The Whole AnuheaJams ‘Ohana”
She admitted later on her Facebook page that she was “so nervous” to tell everyone about her news, but “now that the secret is out…I’m going to CHARGE UM with this baby bump!”
Thousands of likes and posts flooded her social media and supporters offered encouraging words like, “Congratulations on your blessing! I am sure you will be the best mom ever! Luckiest baby to have you sing him lullabies”
Speaking of the vocal talents of Anuhea, fans have already been speculating about the baby’s potential as a future musician. Anuhea also grew up in a musical family, with a father immersed in the surf culture, her sister, the founder of female group Leo Pulimehana, and her grandfather a popular country guitarist. Music is certainly deep in the baby’s roots.
The reggae singer/songwriter was sorry to announce that she would be changing the tour schedule a bit to accommodate her health, but fans were understanding. She had to cancel her Fresno, Vegas, Sacramento and Phoenix shows, yet promises, “…we’re planning some amazing tour dates next year” The revised schedule for her acoustic tour can be found below.
In the meantime, she’ll be working on her brand new full length album of original music.
“That’s what I’ll be doing in the meantime: lots of writing and soul searching here in Hawaii in preparation for recording the new album, and of course preparing for the baby…There’s no stopping now!”
And with Anuhea’s full name being Rylee Anuheake’alaokalokelani Jenkins, we’re all dying to know what this little bundle of joy will be named!
