Chronixx has announced that he will play 7 U.S. shows in late April 2016. Chronixx catapulted to the forefront of reggae with a collection of catchy singles and his celebrated 2014 EP Dread & Terrible. Now, nearly two years after the release of Dread & Terrible, Roots & Chalice arrives as a thirst quencher for those anxiously awaiting Chronixx’s debut album, scheduled to drop later this year.

Roots & Chalice is a 26-track, hour-long collaboration with the Brooklyn sound system Federation Sound. The mixtape contains a number of reworked favorites like “Alpha & Omega,” “Spirulina,” and “Iyah Walk,” as well as exclusive new songs produced by Zincfence Records and Special Delivery Music. Others contain Chronixx freestyles over classic reggae and hip hop instrumentals.

Also featured on the new mixtape are fellow Jamaican artists Kabaka Pyramid, Kelissa, Dre Island, and Eesah. You can download the Roots & Chalice mixtape for FREE by clicking HERE!

Chronixx also recently unveiled a new video from Roots & Chalice for his track “Perfect Tree” featuring Eesah. “Perfect Tree” exhibits an infectious Chronixx flow over the timeless beat from Black Star‘s 1998 song “Respiration.” Joachim Maquet (@alleyesonit) directed the music video, which contains Chronixx and Eesah dancing and smoking a chalice on top of big rolling hills and a dark smoky forest.

In addition to his tour dates on the West Coast, expect Chronixx to announce more shows in Europe, Africa, the West Indies, Japan, and the rest of North America shortly.
