One of the flagship reggae-rock bands of our time, The Dirty Heads, have announced their plans for 2013. Some folks may say this community gets saturated with like-minded sounds and recycled tours, but one thing The Dirty Heads have always done is blaze their own trail.
The Dirty Heads will be headlining the PureVolume Odyssey Tour, along with Hollywood indie rock outfit, Shiny Toy Guns. The month long journey will take the aforementioned duo and Oh No Fiasco and Midi Matilda across the United States, beginning on February 13th in Dallas, Texas at the House of Blues. This may not seem like your typical tour for the reggae-rock scene, but The Dirty Heads rarely act out what fans expect to unfold.
The mantra has always been to build your fan base with new fans and reach a new crowd with successive tour. Bringing together a melting pot of acts such as these four bands will accomplish just that. The Dirty Heads will undoubtedly bring their rabid fan base known simply as the “Wicked & Wylee”, and there is no question the other three bands will carry their own weight, and then some for shows in all different demographics.
This 20-date tour will feature shows in both major and secondary markets, stopping in New York, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee and the tour kickoff show in Dallas, while also featuring less frequented cities like Des Moines, Iowa, Fort Collins, Colorado and Burlington, Vermont. Wherever your location, this tour will be at venue within proximity.
Although, one glaring gap in their touring route is the west coast. As the tour begins in the country’s heartland, The Dirty Heads and company will only make it as far as Colorado before closing up shop for the spring. For fans in California, don’t be too disappointed; The Dirty Heads will be featured with Rebelution and a host of other reggae-rock mainstays at the 4th annual California Roots Music & Arts Festival at the end of May.
