Dirty Heads’ New Dessert EP & Summer Tour Dates

Just before announcing that they’d be hitting the road this summer with SOJA, The Green and RDGLDGRN, Dirty Heads decided to release a 4 song EP titled Dessert, which can be seen as a treat left over from the July 2016 release of their 11 track self-titled record, Dirty Heads.

This is one of the biggest headlining tour’s Dirty Heads has had as they’ll be leading the way on a run through amphitheaters worldwide across 22 different states from June 9th to July 23rd, 2017. While Dirty Heads are still promoting last year’s album, in addition to the newly released Dessert EP, it’s been rumored that we may also be hearing new material from both SOJA and The Green, while RDGLDGRN currently has a Pledge going for their DHSOJAToursophomore record.

With so much new music out and on the way, this appears to be shaping up as a summer full of new live material among classics and old favorites from an eclectic tour lineup.

The Dessert EP is consistent with what you’d hear from their latest self-titled album. The songs, “Freedom,” “Mana,” “Can’t Sit Here,” and “They Don’t Even Know,” all came to be during the making of Dirty Heads and were produced by Rome Ramirez and Da Internz. “Can’t Sit Here” and “Mana” are my personal favorites with the former showing potential over the airwaves as a radio hit.

The 4 songs were left off the album as most groups follow the trend of releasing shorter albums while releasing additional songs in bunches. Including their new self-titled album, the Borgeous remix of “Oxygen”, their 2 acoustic Spotify exclusive tracks, and their Amazon exclusive of “So Long”, Dirty Heads have released 18 new songs over 7 months.

With so much new energy around new music, this is all culminating for an amazing summer tour with a great eclectic line-up as each group brings their own unique sound to the stage. The summer tour doesn’t start until June, but you can catch the Dirty Heads the first week of March at Reggae Rise Up in Florida, or in May at Cali-Roots in Monterey, CA, Bottlerock Festival in Napa, CA or Sunfest in West Palm Beach, FL.
