The Elovaters have returned with a new song called “Sunburn,” the first official single from their upcoming fifth studio album.
Warmth emanates from the tune like the glow of the setting sun. Lyrically, the track details summer romance, its chorus declaring: “Drunk and filled with the love / When most don’t have enough / Like ooh / Sunburned underneath / So come cool off in my sheets”
Within 30 seconds its easy to picture “Sunburn” playing on a bluetooth speaker as friends share laughs around a beachside bonfire. Its a vibe that’s palpable throughout the song — one the band is happy to embrace.
“This one’s made for the late nights, salty skin, and that warm buzz that only summer brings,” The Elovaters explained vis social media. “Whether you’re road-trippin’, beach chillin’, or backyard vibin’.”
The Elovaters haven’t yet announced a title or released date for their upcoming album. Whenever it drops, it will mark their first full length efforts since the group’s highly successful 2023 album Endless Summer. That LP featured a slew of guest appearances, including Little Stranger and Surfer Girl.
Last year, The Elovaters joined Dirty Heads and Slightly Stoopid on their 24 date summer amphitheater tour, and followed that with their own headlining tour. This October, they’ll team with another beloved reggae rock act, Rebelution, for an extended trek.
Additionally, The Elovaters will be performing at a long list of festivals, including Levitate, Brighter Daze, Great South Bay, Reggae Rise Up Oregon, McHenry, Reggae Rise Up Vegas, Mission Bayfest, Vans Warped Tour, and Closer to the Sun.
