As many of you may know, Fortunate Youth is currently touring the country on the It’s All A Jam Spring Tour. Many of you may also know that the FY crew doesn’t stop! Just recently, the band announced plans to release a 6-track EP known as the Dub Collections, Vol. 1!
Set to drop on April 21st, fans on the West Coast have the chance to officially download the 
Dub Collections, Vol.1 as early as 9pm on 4/20/14. Currently, Fortunate Youth is in the third week of their fourth national headlining tour and providing direct support is fellow Los Angeles roots reggae band, True Press, who also just released their debut full-length, “Anything Is Possible.”

Volume 1 of the Dub Collections was produced and recorded by Lewis Richards at 17th Street Recording Studio in Costa Mesa, California. According to Fortunate Youth’s keyboardist and bassist, Jered Draskovich, “We’ve always wanted to dub all our tracks and we finally just had some time to dub a few of them! My personal favorite ended up being Some Might Say Dub… We were just hanging with Lew in the studio and having fun! Can’t wait to get in there and do Vol. 2! We hope everyone enjoys the vibes.”
Fortunate Youth first started dubbing their tracks for the EP in late July of last year before hitting the road with Iration, Through The Roots and Micah Brown on the Automatic Tour. This summer, the band has plans to play at music festivals such as Wakarusa, UCLA Jazz and Reggae Festival, Reggae in the Hills, Reggae in the Desert and more. The band’s manager, Jared Segawa, has high hopes for the band to be headlining another tour in the early Fall and he also added that FY is aiming for a new full-length album to be ready for an early 2015 release!
Don’t forget, Fortunate Youth’s Dub Collections, Vol. 1 drops on 4/21, just as their tour makes its’ way back to the west coast!
