Hirie’s Triumphant New Album ‘Phases’ Marks a Major Turning Point

More than a decade into her career, Hirie (real name Trish Jetton) has delivered her strongest – and most personal material – to date.

The new album Phases reflects Hirie’s powerful evolution as both a musician and a human being. In the time since her last studio LP, the singer has gotten sober, moved back to her hometown in Hawaii, and welcomed her second child. These monumental life milestones each contributed to the 13 songs that make up Phases.

Teaming once more with producer Danny Kalb, Hirie was able to craft a well-rounded effort. “Danny and I have a special, symbiotic relationship in the studio,” Hirie explained via press release. “We understand each other so well—I can anticipate his next move, as he does mine, which allows us to flow creatively and get things done efficiently.”

Highlights from the album include “All is OK,” a soulful, reflective collaboration with The Movement that finds Hirie embracing both the highs and lows of life. “Hold on Me” emanates old school romance and charm, while “I’m High” is intoxicatingly catchy. Still our favorite track is “For Me and You” featuring Mike Love, which hides a plea for societal change beneath its sultry, horn-heavy arrangement.

Other guests on the album include Inna Vision, Karim Israel of Arise Roots and Cas Haley. Big name guests aside, Phases is a deep reflection of Hirie, one of reggae rock’s most talented singer songwriters, who continues to find new depth at every turn.

In support of the album, Hirie will continue performing throughout 2025. The singer has tour dates scheduled through the end of November, including stops at major festivals like Reggae Rise Up Las Vegas, Mission Bayfest in San Diego and the Live Loud Fest cruise.
