Arizona-based Katastro are not one to settle or shy away from experimentation –- since their musical inception in 2007 the alternative-hip hop-rock quartet have continued to push boundaries and break new sonic ground with each release. Following up on their release of Strange Nights in 2016, Katastro has revealed you can expect their first acoustic album Bones to hit the shelves August 11 via LAW Records.
Strange Nights helped propel Katastro into new territory shortly after its release in 2016. The album featured several tracks that you’ve surely heard (or need to go check out immediately) including “Flow,” “Vicious Thing” and “Waste the Night” featuring Jared Watson of Dirty Heads. Their sound is exceptionally unique with a complete and wholesome sound, and their live shows have been turning heads and grabbing attention with each passing year.
Katastro recently offered up the first taste of what to expect from Bones, dropping the acoustic version of “Alone” from their 2011 release Gentle Predator. The album in its entirety will be comprised of previously released tracks dating back to their debut EP The Facts from November 2008 with a rendition of “Place You Know.” The band also recently made the announcement on July 7 that pre-orders will include an immediate download of “Alone” — listen for yourself below and circle your calendar for August 11.
