Jam lifers, clear your calendars.
Longtime road warriors moe. and Umphrey’s McGee are joining forces this summer for the 17-date moe.mentUM Tour, a co-headlining run that promises sit-ins, deep cuts, and the kind of improvisational curveballs both bands have built careers on.
The tour kicks off June 11 at XL Live in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, before weaving through key East Coast markets including New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and New Jersey. July finds the bands heading south with stops in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Alabama, leading into appearances at moe.’s long-running moe.down festival.
After a brief mid-summer break, the run resumes August 12 in Grand Rapids, Michigan (venue TBA), followed by August 14 in Cleveland and a closing-night throwdown near Chicago on August 15.
Both groups share deep roots in the modern jam circuit. moe., formed in Buffalo in 1989, helped define the post-Grateful Dead touring ecosystem with a catalog that blends progressive rock, psychedelia, and extended improvisation. Umphrey’s McGee, founded at the University of Notre Dame in 1997, have built a reputation for technical precision, genre-hopping sets, and a fiercely loyal live following.
True to community form, $1 from every ticket sold will benefit Eddie’s Hugs and the Mad Love Foundation, continuing both bands’ history of charitable involvement.
Artist presales begin March 4 at 10 a.m. local time, with general on-sale set for March 6 at 10 a.m. local time.
Expect collaborative jams. Expect surprises. Expect both bands on stage together more than once.
