More Artists Added to Cali Roots!

After the second round of artists were announced, growing from a one day festival to three full days of music this coming year, the fourth annual California Roots Music and Arts Festival is going to trump all three previous editions combined. A true reggae music lover will not want to miss this event!

When the first round of artists were announced for the May 24-26th music festival known simply as, “Cali Roots”, the depth of this lineup was already revealed as headliners Slightly Stoopid and The Dirty Heads captured the overwhelming excitement initially, there is still plenty more to come. Even with the heavy dose of island flavor over the past years, there has never been a Jamaican artist to grace the Monterrey County Fairgrounds’ stage. This coming year, that notion will be put to bed, as legendary reggae-dancehall singer, Don Carlos, will be performing for the first time.

The second round of artists brought both the reggae sounds of Jamaica, tropical roots from Hawaii and progressive reggae-rock music from the states to grow that diversity even further, all in one announcement. The big names joining the aforementioned acts Slightly Stoopid, Dirty Heads and Don Carlos will be Santa Barbara, California’s Rebelution, Matisyahu, The Green, Collie Buddz with New Kingston and Rootz Underground. Without a doubt, this lineup has all styles, influences and variations to their reggae sounds.

With nearly forty bands already announced for the three-day festival, and more to come on January 15th, tickets will be going fast! Early Bird Tickets are currently available for purchase. If there is any hesitance on attending this year’s event, where else could you see all these bands perform together at one venue? You will be hard pressed to find a better lineup for a reggae festival, anywhere across the globe.
