Pepper has remained a cornerstone of the reggae-rock scene since dropping their debut album Give’n It in 1998 and relocating from Kona, Hawaii to California the following year. Now, more than two decades into their career, the band is diving deep into their history through their new podcast, The Pepper Chronicles.
In the latest episode, Kaleo Wassman, Yesod Williams, and Bret Bollinger take fans behind the scenes of their fourth studio album, No Shame. The trio reflects on the experience of signing to a major label, collaborating with 311’s Nick Hexum, and recording at their own studio, The Hive. For the first time in their career, the band had the luxury of time—and it changed everything about the creative process.
