Premiere: Alborosie – “Contradiction” (ft. Chronixx)
Unbreakable will be Alborosie’s sixth full length vocal studio album as the record includes performances from Aston ‘Family Man’ Barrett, Tyrone Downie and Junior Marvin of the famed Bob Marley backing band, now called The Wailers United. With the Premiere of “Contradiction,” we hear a hard-hitting reggae rhythm with a thumping bass and head-bobbin’ beat with a full sound occupied by horns with back-up harmonies around melodic vocal deliveries. Alborosie and Chronixx sound great trading heat over a track that will keep heads moving in unison before they know what the song is about. The song gives us a tasteful glimpse at what a joint record would sound like between the two as Alborosie and Chronixx sound quite natural together, complimenting each others vocal styles and deliveries in a real organic way.
Here’s what Alborosie shares about the song and working with Chronixx: “Music is a universal language that can connect people of any age group from around the world. Working with Chronixx was a great experience not only because he is one of the main messengers of the younger generation of reggae voices, but also because he is aware of social issues that are affecting many youths all over the world and it’s reflecting in his music. It was important that the song we would create together would be something that would contain a message for the people and the youths. ‘Contradiction’ was ultimately a song born from the time we are living in and speaks to the current everyday life social and political climate.”

Alborosie was born in the Italian island of Sicily. And as our our own Brian Winters details: Alborosie has been cemented in reggae since his childhood. With a collection of hit songs and handful of critically acclaimed albums, including Soul Pirate (2008), Escape To Babylon (2009), Sound The System (2013), Freedom & Fyah (2016) among collaborate, dub and acoustic records — He just released an all acoustic version of his Soul Pirate album in 2017.
