Protoje and Masicka Turn the Energy All the Way Up on “Ting Loud”

Protoje continues to build momentum toward his next full-length project with the release of “Ting Loud,” a high-powered collaboration with Masicka that bridges roots reggae and modern dancehall with ease.

The track arrives as the fifth and final single ahead of Protoje’s upcoming album The Art of Acceptance, set for release April 17 via Ineffable Records in partnership with his In.Digg.Nation Collective. If the previous singles have mapped out the album’s emotional and sonic range, “Ting Loud” feels like the exclamation point.

Driven by a heavy, knocking rhythm and sharp lyrical delivery, the track lives up to its name. It’s bold, confident, and built for volume. Protoje’s signature blend of reggae, hip hop, soul, and jazz textures sits comfortably alongside Masicka’s commanding dancehall presence, creating a balance that feels both natural and elevated.

Behind the boards, Winta James once again plays a central role. Known for shaping some of Protoje’s most defining records, including “Who Knows” and “Switch It Up,” Winta brings a polished but hard-hitting foundation to the track. Co-production from Ziah .Push and Manu Digital adds additional depth, pushing the sound into a space that feels both rooted and forward-thinking.

Protoje has long stood at the forefront of reggae’s modern evolution, consistently finding ways to expand the genre without losing its core. A Grammy-nominated artist with appearances on platforms like NPR’s Tiny Desk and late-night television, he’s built a global audience while staying deeply connected to Jamaica’s musical lineage.

That connection was on full display earlier this year when he hosted his annual Lost In Time Festival in Jamaica, bringing together a community of artists and fans that reflects the culture surrounding his work. Now, with a 46-date tour across Europe and the United States on deck, Protoje is carrying that energy worldwide.

“Ting Loud” doesn’t just preview what’s coming next. It reinforces why Protoje continues to be one of the most important voices in reggae today.
