Rebelution has announced that this January they will be heading back out on their annual Winter Greens Tour, set for 2 month long runs supported by none other than Katchafire and Gondwana.
Earlier this year Rebelution, via their own 87 Music in partnership with Easy Star Records, released their fourth studio album, Count Me In . Soon after, the band supported the record with a tour of the same name, traveling with US-Reggae-Rock favorites Iration, The Green, Stick Figure. Then, this past fall, the band took the show across the Atlantic for a run through Europe with Groundation. After a performance at the High Times Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam on November 27th Rebelution will continue to support the new record, touring early in the new year.
Recently, the band has announced that this January they will be heading back out on their annual Winter Greens Tour. Scheduled to kick off January 14th in Lawrence, Kansas the first run travels down into the Southeast, playing through the end of the month. The tour picks back up for the second run on February 26th in Park City, Utah. Then, playing up to Vancouver then down through California with 2 nights in Santa Cruz at The Catalyst on March 11th & 12th and 2 nights in Hollywood at the Hollywood Palladium on March 13th & 14th.
For tours in the recent past Rebelution has brought along an array of US headlining and regionally touring Reggae-Rock acts. Over the years it seems the band has played with almost every act in the scene. Set for 2 seperate month long runs, this year’s Winter Greens Tour will be supported by veteran Reggae outfits, Katchafire, from New Zealand on the 1st leg and Gondwana from Chile on the second leg.
“The CampFire is pretty excited about our new year tour with Rebulution, it’s an
opportunity we just can’t miss,” says Katchafire Lead Vocalist, Logan Bell. “I think both bands compliment each other’s art & for Katchafire, it’s a chance to win a whole new audience that love reggae music, but may not have heard of us before… After the show if they don’t know they will know!”
Katchafire has also been working on new music, even releasing a single off their 5th studio album on Hawaiian radio. Be sure to listen for new Katchafire tunes on tour this winter.
It has also been announced that Rebelution has been booked as one of the many acts at the big Byron Bay Bluesfest, Austrailia’s premier Blues and Roots music festival. Logan also explained to The Pier that after Katchafire supports Rebelution in the US, but Rebelution will support Katchafre on their next Australian tour in 2015.
