Some of the biggest names in the reggae-rock-hip hop field will be joining forces on April 20th, 2013, for The 420 Hotbox at historic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado.
The headlining act for the milestone show at Red Rocks will be Ocean Beach, CA jam band, Slightly Stoopid. It will be Slightly Stoopid’s first headlining show at Red Rocks since their 2011 Seedless Summer Tour with Rebelution and Shwayze. The supporting act to Stoopid on The 420 Hotbox lineup will be hip hop legends, Cypress Hill. Both Slightly Stoopid and Cypress Hill are very familiar with each other after sharing the stage throughout an entire tour during the summer of 2010.
This show will be a special one for many reasons, but for fellow San Diego reggae band, Tribal Seeds, they will be making their debut in front of more than 10,000 fans at the open air Red Rocks venue. Tribal Seeds has amassed a sizeable following in the state of Colorado with sold out shows at Boulder’s Fox Theatre and Denver’s Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom. Now, Tribal Seeds will grace the largest stage in Colorado for the first time, following in the footsteps of pioneering reggae bands, Slightly Stoopid, The Dirty Heads, Pepper, The Expendables and Rebelution, among many others.
The 420 Hotbox at Red Rocks is a pinnacle moment, as the show is in celebration of the state of Colorado legalizing cannabis. The show is being billed as “The World’s Largest Weed Party”, according to Slightly Stoopid’s website.
However, this is not Amsterdam’s Annual Cannabis Cup, but with these three acts showcasing their music all together at one venue, this could be the start of the United States’ equivalent of the European delicacy.
There are more event details being released shortly, so stay tuned for ticket information and purchasing dates.
