Stoopid Wins Big at San Diego Music Awards

Slightly Stoopid walked away with some top honors at the 25th San Diego Music Awards on Oct. 5, 2015 at Humphrey’s By The Bay. The group deservedly dominated with Album of the Year and Best Music Video by a San Diego Band. The intimate venue was entertained by performances from Stoopid’s veteran sax player Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe and long time hometown reggae band Big Mountain.

Humphrey’s is known for the personal concerts where nearly every seat puts you close to the stage. I have personally seen The Temptations and Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons. My parents have seen Ringo Starr on multiple occasions.

The hotel and restaurant on site is known for its summer concert series situated next to the beautiful San Diego Bay. Those fortunate enough to have a small boat or kayak on hand are in a good position to view the stage from the water at no cost.

But I digress, perhaps the best news from the award show is the winning music video for The Prophet. It was shot, edited, and directed by The Pier family’s own Jeff Pliskin of Raised Fist Propaganda featuring never before seen footage of Sublime’s Bradley Nowell.

We are looking forward to more award winners from the talented, rogue photographer/videographer from Brooklyn, New York. Go ahead and send him a shout out, tell him congratulations, or book him for your next video by clicking HERE!

In other Slightly Stoopid news, they were featured on the Jimmy Kimmel show performing a few songs in promotion of their new album Meanwhile… Back at the Lab. The performance aired on Sept. 29th and you can view a video from that performance below. Stoopid will also be heading out on the road this fall with Stick Figure, so expect to see a live collaboration on the Stick Figure song “Choice Is Yours” that features Stoopid.
