Sublime is Officially Selling Their ‘Tres Legados’ Merch from SOMA San Diego Anniversary Show

Sublime has announced that the official ‘Tres Legados’ merchandise is up for sale in their online store. In December of 2021, three of Southern California’s most iconic music institutions joined forces to celebrate three major anniversaries — 35 years of SOMA San Diego, 30 years of SRH Productions, and 25 years of Sublime’s iconic self-titled album.

Featuring performances from Long Beach Dub Allstars, Hed PE, Sprung Monkey, and Fishbone, with other Suburban Noize Records fan favorites like Mix Mob, King Klick, and label newcomers Dropout Kings performing too, SRH Fest built on the extensive concert history that independently owned SOMA San Diego has curated since Lenn Paul founded it in 1986. Previous legendary performers include Eddie Vedder, Stone Temple Pilots, No Doubt, Radiohead, Green Day, Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Blink 182, Dom Kennedy, Chance The Rapper, and Billie Eilish, amongst many others. Many bands on the SRH Fest bill like Sprung Monkey and Unwritten Law point at SOMA and SRH as the platforms that helped launch their careers.

On how the event came together, SRH founder Kevin Zinger states, “Oddly enough, Brad Nowell‘s wife, Troy and I, are still close and we touched base on Long Beach Dub Allstars. She was planning a party for the Sublime self-titled anniversary and wanted them to play. I was planning an SRH 30-year Anniversary and we just decided to combine them as we have so much history together. We started talking about venues and I reached out to SOMA and found out it was their 35-year anniversary. It just made sense to combine them all. SRH and Sublime have so much history as we all did countless shows together throughout the ’90’s.”

Bradley Nowell’s passing came a mere two months prior to the release of Sublime’s self-titled album, fueling a much deserved spike in the band’s popularity that is seen all too often when an artist is lost before their time. The album subsequently topped the rock charts for over 2 years, going platinum 5 times, and has successfully carried its weight in gold through each of the forthcoming generations.

Troy denDekker, also known as Mama Troy, is the wife of Bradley Nowell and has helped to carry on Sublime’s musical legacy after his passing. She commented, “I was born and raised in San Diego and it has always been Sublime’s home away from home. And between SOMA and SRH, they have both given so many bands a platform to play and launch careers. This will be a great night to honor some big anniversaries, but also a toast to San Diego as a great music hub and the people behind it.”
