Sublime is already enjoying a hugely successful summer 2025. The band has played some of the nation’s biggest festivals, while their new single “Ensenada” – their first original release with Jakob Nowell at the helm – is a radio hit. Now, drummer Bud Gaugh is giving some insight into the group’s upcoming full-length album.
“We definitely have some some other artists that we’re working with on some of these tracks,” Gaugh admitted, noting the as-yet-unnamed album will have plenty of guests.
“I know people were kind of wondering, ‘Is there gonna be any punk rock?’” the drummer noted. “Well we’re doing this this Vegas breakout. We’re taking over Vegas for like 3 days. Special tours at the Punk Rock Museum and a couple shows at the Dolby Live with Pennywise. And I bet you Fletcher [Dragge, Pennywise guitarist] is gonna be on one of those punk rock songs.”

Gaugh’s words echo those of Jakob, who – in a separate interview – added that G Love and Zac Carper from Fidlar would also be on the new album.
The idea of Sublime and Pennywise teaming up on a track is exciting, but not totally unexpected. The bands share a long history together and Dragge has regularly joined Sublime onstage to perform “Same in the End.”
The Vegas event Gaugh was referring to is ‘Fear, Loathing, and Sublime in Las Vegas,’ taking place Aug. 15-16 at Dolby Live at Park MGM. Sublime and Pennywise will perform on both nights — which naturally leads us to wonder if this new collaboration might be given its live debut during the event.
