Boston’s genre-blending torchbearers, The Elovaters, are back with “Good Old Days,” a sun-dappled, acoustic-driven single that leans into an alternative singer-songwriter aesthetic while still nodding to their reggae-rock roots. It’s the second glimpse of what’s to come from their forthcoming album, the follow-up to their breakout 2023 LP Endless Summer.
Where Endless Summer boasted swaggering features from Little Stranger and Surfer Girl, this new track strips things down, letting frontman Jackson Wetherbee’s vocals ride a laid-back acoustic groove. The result? Something intimate and reflective—a musical postcard from simpler times.
“Good Old Days” feels like a departure in tone but not in spirit. It captures the same warmth and camaraderie that’s become The Elovaters’ calling card, just through a more unplugged, coastal lens. The band continues to blur the line between reggae, alternative, and pop, delivering music that’s tailor-made for both road trip singalongs and late-night reflection. The band described the song’s vibe as “windows down, radio up, ocean breeze in the air.” Those words — which echo the song’s lyrics — ring true as you bask in the tune’s carefree comfort.
The full album is expected to drop later this year, with “Good Old Days” serving as an emotional checkpoint—one that feels timeless and familiar in all the right ways.
The Elovaters will remain on the road as summer creeps into fall. The band will perform at both the Oregon and Las Vegas editions of Reggae Rise Up, before heading on tour with Rebelution in October. A headlining trek starts in November and will last through the end of 2025.
