Meechy Darko and Zombie Juice Continue 2DEAD BOYZ Run With “Felony Ring”

Meechy Darko and Zombie Juice are continuing the next chapter of their Flatbush Zombies story with “Felony Ring,” the latest single from their new duo project 2DEAD BOYZ.

The track keeps the dark, psychedelic and hard-edged qualities long associated with Flatbush Zombies intact while placing the focus specifically on the chemistry between Meechy and Juice.

Meechy Darko and Zombie Juice spent more than a decade as two-thirds of Flatbush Zombies alongside Erick “The Architect” Elliott, helping establish a distinctly psychedelic corner of New York hip-hop built around dense lyricism, grim production and a fascination with altered consciousness.

Flatbush Zombies emerged from Brooklyn in the early 2010s, becoming closely associated with New York’s Beast Coast movement alongside Pro Era and The Underachievers. After building an underground following through early releases including D.R.U.G.S. and BetterOffDEAD, the trio’s 2016 debut studio album 3001: A Laced Odyssey reached No. 10 on the Billboard 200. Vacation in Hell followed in 2018 before the group joined the larger Beast Coast collective for Escape From New York in 2019.

In the years since, all three members have had room to explore their own directions.

Meechy released his solo album Gothic Luxury in 2022, while Zombie Juice followed with Love Without Conditions in 2023. Rather than representing a complete return to the traditional Flatbush Zombies setup, 2DEAD BOYZ gives Meechy and Juice a separate vehicle for the musical connection they have developed across more than a decade together.

Meechy told SPIN that he and Juice had called each other “2DeadBoyz” long before turning the phrase into a formal duo, describing the pair as having their own shared musical “realm” within the larger history of Flatbush Zombies. He also pointed to Outkast and “2 Dope Boyz (In a Cadillac)” as an influence on the name.

The duo previously released “Blood On My Knife” in September 2025 before returning in March 2026 with “Tunnel Vision” and “Chef Kisses.” Those releases were credited across Meechy Darko, Zombie Juice, 2DEAD BOYZ and Flatbush Zombies, maintaining a visible connection between the new project and the group that established them.

Now “Felony Ring” keeps the rollout moving with the kind of psychedelic, lyrically dense hip-hop that originally helped distinguish Flatbush Zombies from their peers.

There is an inherent familiarity in hearing Meechy and Juice trade space on a record. That gives the duo room to emphasize its own chemistry while still drawing from the darker atmosphere and unconventional approach that built the Zombies’ following in the first place.

The duo will also take the project on the road this fall alongside The Underachievers for the NO1LIVESFOREVER Tour, reconnecting two acts whose histories overlap through the wider Beast Coast movement. Dates currently announced include a November 12 stop at Phoenix’s Crescent Ballroom and a December 9 show at Union Stage in Washington, D.C.

For longtime Flatbush Zombies listeners, 2DEAD BOYZ occupies an interesting space.

It is connected enough to the Zombies’ history to feel immediately recognizable, but the point does not appear to be recreating an earlier era exactly. Instead, Meechy Darko and Zombie Juice are narrowing the focus and seeing what happens when the creative relationship between the two of them becomes the entire project.

“Felony Ring” is the latest step in that process, carrying the darkness, psychedelia and sharp-edged New York rap of their past into a new configuration.
