Phoenix-based artist Mouse Powell returns with his latest single “I Didn’t Get This High,” continuing to blur the lines between hip-hop, reggae-rock, and alternative.
Known for his versatility, Mouse Powell built early momentum in the underground hip-hop scene through his collaborative project Why Not? alongside Grieves. Since then, he’s expanded into the reggae-rock world, linking with artists like Katastro and Artikal Sound System, helping carve out a lane that sits comfortably between genres.
“I Didn’t Get This High” reflects that hybrid approach, pairing introspective lyricism with a laid-back but polished sound. The track leans into mood and atmosphere while maintaining the grounded storytelling that has defined his work so far.
With his profile continuing to rise, Mouse Powell is also set to perform at the California Roots Festival this year, placing him alongside some of the biggest names in the reggae and alternative scenes.
As he continues to move between worlds, “I Didn’t Get This High” stands as another step forward for an artist who refuses to be boxed into a single sound and loves to keep growing.
