2012 Coachella Line-up Leaked!

One of the largest festivals in musical arts and culture, this side of Woodstock, is the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival staged in Indio, California. Typically, for this monstrous event, the lineup is announced after the New Year. However, this past weekend, an inside source who works for Goldenvoice provided a leak of the entire lineup for the upcoming festival scheduled for back to back weekends on the 2nd and 3rd weeks of April. (Flyer shown below).

For reggae-rock enthusiasts, one major notable band is rumored to be featured on an extremely impressive Saturday night lineup.

Headlining April 21st in Indio will be the Foo Fighters, Daft Punk, Chris Cornell of Soundgarden, LMFAO, Snow Patrol and the Dirty Heads. Also headlining a previous night of Coachella will be longtime ska-punk-reggae-rock icons, No Doubt.

Coachella is always one of the most desirable music festivals of the year, and this year will follow the same suit. The lineup is extensive. The fans will come out in droves from nearby Los Angeles, San Diego from the south, Phoenix to the east, and Las Vegas to north, as well as patrons from across the country attempting to catch their favorite acts.

Each band that is featured on the bill must fit the criteria for Coachella’s booking rules, which included that state performers cannot play the L.A. market within roughly 30 days of the fest. So if an indie band is touring the United States, has shows in other parts of California (or misses the state entirely), but is playing in surrounding areas and doesn’t have any shows scheduled for the weekend of Coachella, chances are pretty good you’ll be seeing them in the desert.

Other notable acts participating in the Coachella festival include: Radiohead, The Roots, Mos Def, The Shins, Moby, Modest Mouse, Death Cab For Cutie, AWOL Nation, and countless others, including the aforementioned Dirty Heads.

Past Coachella performances have been considered the greatest music festival ever, but with this year’s lineup, all previous lineups might be trumped in comparison. It is tough to match a concert bill with the Foo Fighters, Radiohead, Modest Mouse, No Doubt, etc, unless you date back to the 1969 Woodstock festival in New York. However, no one can recreate that event, Coachella can only try and top that groundbreaking festival.
