For well over a decade, you could say that things have been falling into place quite nicely for Rebelution. Having cemented themselves in the upper echelon of the reggae-rock scene with five groundbreaking full-length albums, the Grammy-nominated Isla Vista based quartet show no signs of slowing down and have assembled an epic tour run with support from Nahko and Medicine for the People, Collie Buddz, HIRIE and DJ Mackle for their Good Vibes Summer Tour 2017!
2017 has already been shaping up to be another huge year for Rebeultion as they’ve been touring heavily in support of their June 2016 album, Falling into Place, notching the band’s first Grammy nomination for Best Reggae Album. Lead vocalist and guitarist Eric Rachmany has also remained true to his pedal-to-the-metal mentality continuing to release new music with Amp Live for his side project of Unified Highway, as well as recent collaborations with several artists. Off the stage, promotions have been ramping up for the Rebelution Feeling Alright IPA –- check back in with the Pier for more details on that soon.
Joining Rebelution on the Good Vibes Tour will be Nahko Bear and his traveling ensemble Nahko and Medicine for the People — This will be the first time Rebelution & Nahko have ever toured together. The self-proclaimed world musical collective sets their sights on opening for Rebelution during the tour and are also fresh off of an album release of their own, Hoka, which was released in 2016 debuting on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart at #72. Along with traveling and performing throughout the Good Vibes Tour, Nahko and Medicine for the People can also be found playing some additional big-time dates to include Firefly Music Festival, Electric Forest and others.
Bermudan reggae vocalist Collie Buddz is in the midst of promoting his first album in over 10 years, Good Life, which was just released to the masses on May 19 via Harper Digital Entertainment. The upbeat and lively album features 10 new tracks and is a reflection of the vocalist’s life throughout the last decade. The album also featured several collaborations with guest appearances from Snoop Dogg, Kat Dahlia, P-Lo, Kreesha Turner and Jody Highroller. Collie Buddz will be surely performing some of the new tracks from the album on this tour, so make sure you don’t miss out!
Shooting up the charts with each passing year, HIRIE is also in the process of promoting and celebrating her latest album, Wandering Soul, which reached #1 on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart. The album featured guest appearances from Nattali Rize, Trevor Hall and Nahko Bear and helped propel HIRIE to the next level of becoming a household name. She’s been featured on several collaborations of her own, including a new track with The Expendables “I Won’t Give Up.” Hirie spreads her uplifting lifestyle, allowing fans “a way to detach from the painful complexities of the world and bask in joyous energy.”
Last but certainly not least, DJ Mackle will be kicking things off in style with each show to get concert attendees hyped up before each band takes the stage. Sponsored by Hill Kid clothing and music, DJ Mackle has been on the road several times with Rebelution as their tour DJ and he is also founder of the group Junkspace.
