Jamaican reggae and dancehall veteran Anthony B is keeping his prolific run moving with “Jet Ski,” a new collaboration with producer and artist Jazzwad released August 7 through Ineffable Records. The single finds Anthony B leaning into the lighter, more playful side of his catalog while maintaining the unmistakable vocal presence that has carried his music across more than three decades.
Built around the familiar pulse of the “Hill & Gully Ride” riddim, “Jet Ski” is geared toward movement. The production gives Anthony B room to ride the rhythm with the kind of commanding delivery that has long connected roots reggae consciousness with dancehall immediacy. Rather than approaching the track with the heavier social commentary associated with much of his best-known work, “Jet Ski” is a warm-weather record centered on attraction, motion and pure dancehall energy. Anthony B himself has been promoting the song as one aimed at “the beautiful ladies around the world,” while the track’s imagery moves between land, water and the physical motion suggested by its title.
The collaboration with Jazzwad also places “Jet Ski” within a long Jamaican tradition of artists reshaping recognizable rhythmic foundations for a new generation. Anthony B has already been performing versions of the song live in 2026, including a freestyle over the “Hill & Gully” rhythm documented earlier this year, allowing the idea to develop onstage before the official single arrived.
Anthony B has confirmed that “Jet Ski” is connected to his forthcoming album World of Love. That makes the single more than a standalone summer release. It offers an early look at the next full-length chapter of a career that has remained remarkably active since Anthony B emerged from Jamaica’s dancehall scene in the 1990s.
Born Keith Blair in Clark’s Town, Trelawny, Anthony B developed his voice in an era when dancehall was becoming an increasingly dominant force in Jamaican popular music. From the beginning, however, he distinguished himself through songs rooted in Rastafari, social commentary and political consciousness. His breakthrough period produced records including “Fire Pon Rome,” “Raid Di Barn” and “Repentance Time,” helping establish him as one of the defining cultural voices to emerge from the mid-1990s Jamaican scene. His music has continued to move between roots reggae and dancehall, pairing forceful deejay-style delivery with themes of spirituality, resistance and everyday life.
His reputation has been built in large part on music carrying serious messages, but his longevity has depended on an ability to operate beyond any single lane. Here, the emphasis is on atmosphere and rhythm, with Anthony B sounding comfortable inside a contemporary dancehall setting without abandoning the vocal character that made his earlier records distinctive.
His recent relationship with Ineffable Records has given that versatility another platform. Anthony B released the 16-track Bread & Butter through Ineffable in March 2023, an album that brought together collaborations with Freddie McGregor, Busy Signal, Chronic Law and others. The record also included “Chill Out,” a Collie Buddz and Johnny Cosmic-produced song that first appeared in 2020 as part of the Cali Roots Riddim project before finding a second life on Bread & Butter.
“Chill Out” proved particularly effective at introducing Anthony B’s voice to listeners within the modern American reggae ecosystem. While his legacy stretches back decades and includes an enormous international catalog, releases through Ineffable have helped connect that history with the contemporary reggae scene surrounding artists, festivals and producers in the United States.
“Jet Ski” continues that bridge while moving toward a different mood. It does not need to carry the weight of Anthony B’s most politically charged material. Instead, it captures an artist with nothing left to prove enjoying the elasticity of the style he has helped carry forward for decades.
