Badfish Prepare to Release ‘Watch Your Mouth,’ Their First Full-Length Original Album, Featuring Little Stranger, Mihali, Grieves and More

Rhode Island reggae-rock favorites Badfish are preparing to release Watch Your Mouth, their first full-length album of original music, on October 30 via Ineffable Records. The 14-track project represents a major milestone for a band that has spent 25 years building a national following through its celebrated live tributes to Sublime.

Featuring collaborations with Little Stranger, Grieves, Mihali, SunDub, Kash’d Out, and DJ Hoppa, Watch Your Mouth brings together some of the most recognizable names in contemporary reggae-rock and independent hip-hop. The project builds on Badfish’s growing catalog of original recordings, marking a new chapter for an act historically associated with keeping Sublime’s music alive onstage.

Formed in Rhode Island in 2001, Badfish developed from a Sublime tribute project into a touring phenomenon, performing more than 100 shows a year and cultivating an audience that spans multiple generations. The band’s longevity has helped establish it as a fixture of the American reggae-rock circuit, where its energetic performances and longstanding connection to Sublime’s catalog have earned it a distinctive reputation.

More recently, Badfish has expanded beyond its tribute-band origins by developing its own original material, incorporating elements of reggae, ska, punk, alternative rock, and hip-hop.

A new chapter for Badfish

Watch Your Mouth reflects that evolution, bringing together breezy melodies, groove-driven arrangements, and an eclectic roster of guest performers. Among the album’s highlights is “High With You,” featuring Little Stranger, one of Badfish’s earliest original releases. The collaboration has accumulated more than two million streams, demonstrating the band’s ability to reach listeners with original material. Another standout, “F You Pay Me,” featuring Grieves, has surpassed one million streams, bringing a hip-hop influence into Badfish’s reggae-rock sound.

The album also includes “Surf Party Lord,” featuring Mihali, which draws on the musical relationship between reggae, jam, and alternative rock, while “Topanga,” featuring SunDub, explores a heavier reggae direction. Elsewhere, “Bad Things,” featuring DJ Hoppa, incorporates hip-hop production, while Kash’d Out appear on “Stuck In The 90s.”The previously unveiled “Son Of A Gun” adds another piece to the band’s expanding original catalog.
