Los Angeles surf-pop trio Bikini Trill has released their triumphant self-titled debut album.
By melding a wide range of influences – including reggae rock, alternative, hip-hop and indie pop – Bikini Trill land on a sound entirely their own. Tracks are catchy without being irritating, positive without feeling saccharine – in short, a perfect balance.
Among the highlights, “It’s All Good,” a soaring tune about living life to the fullest. Elsewhere, “Levitate,” featuring Surfer Girl, offers a breezy dose of escapism, while “Pushing Daisies” delivers one of the album’s catchiest choruses (and has us envisioning No Doubt 2.0).
When it comes to our favorite track, we can’t choose between the bass-heavy bop “Too Much TV” and “Ay Summer,” a boyant beach jam featuring Shwayze. Let’s just call it a tie and give them both the gold.

Though this is their first full-length effort, Bikini Trill exude the confidence of reggae rock veterans. That comes as no surprise to anyone who’s seen the band on tour. Since 2017, Bikini Trill has tirelessly hit the road, honing their craft opening for acts like Reel Big Fish, 311, The Interrupters and The Dirty Heads.
“We wrote, produced, and mixed every song ourselves at our little studio in K-Town,” the band noted on social media. “Countless late nights, takeout runs, and moments of ‘is this crazy or genius?’ went into making this record.” That effort certainly paid off, as Bikini Trill is one of the strongest debut albums we’ve heard in a long time.
Bikini Trill is available on all major streaming services now.
