Sublime discovering Slightly Stoopid as teenagers in the mid-90’s is the script inspirational movies are made of. The way Stoopid continues to pay homage to their early mentors and long time collaborators makes for a great second act to such a script as Slightly Stoopid’s Miles Doughty dishes to The Pier.
It’s hard to imagine that it’s been 7 years since Sublime with Rome released their 2011 debut album with Yours Truly. In 2015 they dropped their sophomore record Sirens and while we wait on details for a third studio album, the group has released a new single titled, “Wicked Heart.”
Last March, we premiered Los Angeles, CA’s Bikini Trill when we covered their first ever single, “Sticky Treez.” They’re a 3-piece band that engineers a cosmic, electro, surf-pop brand of reggae influenced music. It’s refreshingly original as we dive into their new EP that features a cover of Sublime.
With over 100+ hours of recorded interviews and thousands of miles traveled, filmmaker Taylor Morden and his crew are working toward releasing Pick It Up! a documentary on 1990’s ska, in April of 2019.

Sublime has been one of Record Store Day’s most consistent participants since the events 2007 inception. You could say that since that time Sublime has really opened up its back catalog to Vinyl and 2018 will include another early re-release from the Long Beach legends.
On March 16th, Happy Tank will release their debut 11-track record titled U-F-uhO that is said to be a blend of singer/songwriter, alt-rock with post punk, jazz and hip hop sensibilities. The project was started by former Sublime horn-player Todd Forman along with his former 3rd Alley collaborator, Zack Walters.
