CHASER Reimagine Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds” on New ‘Gonna Be Alright’ 7”

Southern California melodic punk outfit Chaser are putting a fresh spin on a reggae classic, announcing their upcoming 7” Gonna Be Alright, due May 29, 2026. At the heart of the release is a reimagined version of Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds,” arriving as the lead single on May 22.

Known for their uplifting take on melodic punk, CHASER lean fully into the spirit of Marley’s timeless anthem, transforming it into a high-energy, guitar-driven singalong while preserving its core message of hope and positivity. The result is a track that bridges reggae and punk in a way that feels natural, tapping into the shared DNA of both genres while giving the song a new sense of urgency and momentum.

For bassist Jesse Stopnitzky, the connection to “Three Little Birds” runs deep. He shared that it was the first song he sang to his son after he was born, making the band’s reinterpretation both personal and intentional. That emotional core carries through in the final version, which keeps Marley’s message intact while amplifying it for a new generation of listeners.

The release also includes a reworked version of “My Promise,” originally an acoustic track from CHASER’s 2010 album The Big Picture. Now transformed into a full-band melodic punk anthem, the song continues the release’s throughline of connection, family, and resilience.

Gonna Be Alright arrives as a bridge between full-length projects as the band prepares for a busy summer of touring across the U.S., Canada, and Europe. In true DIY fashion, physical copies of the 7” will be available exclusively at CHASER’s live shows.

Recorded at Buzzbomb Studios in Orange County with producer Paul Miner, the project also features artwork from Mark De Salvo and Samuel Lucas, visually reinforcing the themes of light, optimism, and unity that define the release.

For fans of reggae-rock and punk crossover, CHASER’s take on “Three Little Birds” feels especially fitting. It’s a reminder of how Marley’s music continues to resonate across genres and generations, and how that message of “every little thing is gonna be alright” can still hit just as hard, whether it’s delivered over skanking rhythms or distorted guitars.
