Southern California reggae rock outfit Fortunate Youth is cranking up the vibe this summer with a brand new album Love For The Music, dropping on August 15th, 2025. To celebrate the upcoming release, Fortunate Youth have dropped the album’s title track, featuring Jamaican vocalist Kumar Fyah.
In typical Fortunate Youth fashion, the song is more than just music — it’s a heartfelt tribute to the communal spirit that saturates their performances. Frontman Dan Kelly, ever the steward of “peace, love & unity,” leans into an upbeat, summery groove, laying the foundation for his soaring melodies to blend with Fyah’s smooth yet commanding vocals. Together, they build a cross-coastal musical bridge from California to Jamaica.
Musically, “Love for the Music” is classic Fortunate Youth: buoyant guitar riffs, syncopated off-beat rhythms, and those signature layered keys and horns that punctuate the chorus. Fyah’s guest appearance elevates the track, adding a roots reggae authenticity that gives Dan more room to shine and rounds out the summer anthem with soulful richness.
The release arrives hot on the heels of the band’s recent string of singles — “Hot Hot Summer,” “What A Dream,” and “CA Vibes” — each reinforcing their reputation as seasonal mainstays in the reggae-rock world.
The album also sets the stage for the band’s forthcoming “Love for the Music” tour with Bumpin Uglies and Josh Heinrichs, igniting anticipation across the reggae rock landscape. See the full list of tour dates below.
