The Great South Bay Music Festival is adding a special moment to its 2026 lineup, announcing a tribute set honoring Bob Weir, one of the most influential figures in American rock and jam music.
Set for Sunday, July 26, the final day of the festival at Shorefront Park in Patchogue, New York, the tribute will be curated and led by Andy Falco of The Infamous Stringdusters. A Grammy-winning guitarist with deep roots in American music, Falco brings both technical range and reverence for the Grateful Dead catalog to the performance.
Joining him for the set is a carefully assembled group of players from across the jam and roots world. The lineup includes guitarist Rob Eaton, drummer Alwyn Robinson, keyboardist Eric Finland, and bassist Patrick Falco. Together, the group is expected to channel the improvisational spirit and expansive energy that defined the Grateful Dead’s legacy.
Festival organizers are promising “timeless jams, soulful improvisation, and that unmistakable Dead energy,” positioning the set as a centerpiece moment for fans of the band and the broader jam community.
The tribute lands within a stacked final day lineup that includes headliners like My Morning Jacket and Little Feat, both of whom share deep musical ties to the extended Grateful Dead universe. Across the full weekend, the festival will also feature a diverse mix of artists including Sublime, Gov’t Mule, The Used, Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers, Common Kings, and more.
Running July 23 through July 26, the Great South Bay Music Festival continues to build on its reputation as one of the East Coast’s premier summer gatherings, blending rock, reggae, jam, and roots music in a waterfront setting.
For longtime fans of the Grateful Dead, the Andy Falco-led tribute offers something more than just a set. It is a celebration of a musical legacy that continues to evolve through the artists it has inspired. And set against the shoreline of Long Island, it is shaping up to be one of the most memorable moments of the weekend.
