Watch Jesse James Pariah’s Fireside Rendition of ‘Horns Under Halo’

Check out this video of Jesse James Pariah delivering an intimate, yet compelling rendition of his standout single “Horns Under Halo”.

Seated in front of a fire, and flanked by guitarist Zane Vandevort, Pariah offers up emotive, pitch perfect vocals as he powers through the track. The reggae rocker’s talent is on full display as he glides through the deeply personal tune. There’s something mesmerizing and engrossing about the performance — one take, no editing or studio tricks, just a singer pouring his soul into the moment.

Released earlier this year, “Horns Under Halo” was produced by DENM, who Pariah previously collaborated with on Slum Beach Posse Vol. 1. Blending alt-rock edge with reggae vibes, the captivating track finds the singer weighing the balance of good versus evil. The song garnered national radio airplay and cemented Pariah’s place among reggae rock’s rising stars.

“The inspiration for ‘Horns Under Halo’ basically comes from my life story,” Pariah previously explained to The Pier. “Like many people, I was misunderstood for most of my life, and others often failed to see my true, pure intentions. I suppose I just came across as a skateboarding, surfing, drug-addicted punk—which I probably was most of the time—but I swear I wasn’t trying to be. Life is a trip, and if you’re lucky enough, it will come full circle, like it did for me.”

The talented Kauai-born singer-songwriter will take the stage this weekend at Mission Bayfest in San Diego. The three day festival boasts an impressive lineup of acts, including Sublime, Slightly Stoopid, 311, Steel Pulse, Rebelution and Pepper. Single day and 3-day passes can be purchased here.
