sportscar Steps ‘OUTSIDE’ With New Dance-Driven Single

Los Angeles by way of Boston artist Carter Reeves Schultz continues to expand his sonic range with sportscar, his electronic-focused project that trades indie and reggae-tinged textures for late-night dancefloor energy. On the new single “OUTSIDE,” he leans fully into house and electronic influences, delivering a sleek, rhythm-forward track built for movement.

Best known as the frontman of Surfer Girl and formerly of Aer, Schultz has spent years crafting melodic, genre-blurring songs rooted in alternative pop. With sportscar, he shifts that sensibility into a more club-ready space, keeping his ear for hooks while embracing pulsing beats and atmospheric production.

“OUTSIDE” follows sportscar’s debut release, “Rush Hour (sportscar remix),” an electronic flip of a fan favorite Surfer Girl track featuring Bryce Vine. The original version appeared on Surfer Girl’s 2025 album Sunset, a collaborative project that also included features from Collie Buddz, Khalia, Bobby Alu, Emily Brimlow, Jah Lil, and Veni Sun.

With “OUTSIDE,” sportscar begins to carve out its own identity separate from Schultz’s previous work, signaling a clear pivot toward electronic production while still carrying the melodic instincts that have defined his career.
