Surfer Girl’s “Lose Touch” Is This Week’s Pier Song of the Week on Skratch N Sniff

Surfer Girl continue their steady rise with “Lose Touch,” a track that captures the band’s ability to blur genre lines while staying rooted in melody and feel. It’s a sound that sits comfortably between indie pop and reggae-rock, but never feels confined to either.

The track is featured as this week’s Pier Song of the Week on the Skratch N Sniff Alt Show. Visit snsmix.com/radio to find where it’s playing and tune in, then run it back on SoundCloud when the full show drops Monday.

Led by Carter Reeves Schultz, whose past work with Aer helped define a generation of alt-pop listeners, the band has spent the last few years refining a more layered and intentional approach. “Lose Touch” reflects that growth, trading in some of the sun-soaked immediacy of earlier material for something more patient and emotionally grounded.

The single serves as the second offering from their upcoming album Midnight, set for release August 21 through Ineffable Records. It follows Sunset (2025), a project that brought in collaborators like Collie Buddz and Bryce Vine and helped expand their reach across scenes.

With a 15-date headlining Skydiving Tour on deck, Surfer Girl are clearly building toward a bigger moment, and “Lose Touch” feels like an important step in that rollout.
