The holiday season has officially arrived for 311 and excitable ones across the globe. Having electrified and ignited audiences with every live show for 27 years in addition to releasing 11 studio albums along the way, the Omaha-based quintet recently announced several updates regarding their 2017 Summer Unity Tour and forthcoming album…

311 has always embraced and emphasized their live shows. Whether promoting their Summer Unity Tour, 311 Day shows, Pow Wow Festival, Caribbean Cruise and countless others, fans from all over the world 311Liveroutinely clear their schedule to sell out shows for the reggae-rock-funk favorites. Much to the delight of their fans, an announcement was recently made that revealed the 2017 Summer Unity Tour will run June 22 – August 20 to include 40 total shows! The full details surrounding the tour and supporting acts will be announced shortly after the 311 Caribbean Cruise returns from Cozumel March 2 – 6, with ticket pre-sales starting Tuesday, March 14.

Additionally, more details for the as-of-yet-untitled 12th studio album and follow-up to 2014’s Sterolithic have at long last been revealed. While the release date is still TBA, the new album pre-order has officially been launched via Pledge Music. All pre-orders give access to pre-sale codes for the 2017 Summer Unity Tour as well as a chance to win prizes, autographed gear and more from 311. The band also solicited help from all fans to help craft a fan-curated album cover (in which the submission period has now closed), as all fans worldwide were encouraged to submit pictures of themselves celebrating the band in any capacity.

A few videos surfaced from 311 Day 2016 in New Orleans in which they debuted two songs, “Hey Yo” and “Island Sun” –- if this is any indication of what to expect from the forthcoming record, fans and listeners will have plenty to be hyped up about. Additionally, bassist Aaron “P-Nut” Willis recently tweeted that they have 17 tracks written, however it remains to be seen if all songs will be on the album.

311 Vinyl & ETSD3

Fans are also delighted with the news that 311 is currently wrapping up the production for the 3rd edition of ETSD (Enlarged to Show Detail) –- a documentary and compilation of rare behind-the-scenes footage and interviews, as well as an all-access look on various filming and outtakes from the band over the years. It will be the first ETSD released in 16 years following ETSD2 and ETSD1. Previous versions have featured 311 in Japan, a milk challenge, collaboration with Shaquille O’Neal, Halloween shenanigans, and other comical outtakes. 311 has also been reissuing several vinyls over the past several months, including Transistor (in celebration of its 20th anniversary), and 2001’s From Chaos which was made available for purchase February 10.

To accompany their never-ending-party aboard the 311 Caribbean Cruise which sets sail aboard the Norwegian Jade Luxury Cruise Ship with some of the biggest names in reggae-rock, 311 is also gracing several music festivals with their presence including Pot of Gold Music Festival in Chandler, AZ (March), 97.1 Edgefest in Frisco, TX (April) and was also recently announced to be on the lineup for the 11th Edition of Montebello Rockfest in Quebec (June). As mentioned above; however, shortly after returning from the cruise the band will announce dates and locations for their 2017 Summer Unity Tour. Stay tuned!
