Veni Sun has teamed up with Nashville indie-rock mainstays Moon Taxi for “Visions,” a new collaboration that brings two different corners of the alternative music world together without forcing either artist too far outside their lane.
Released September 11 through Ineffable Records, “Visions” expands on Veni Sun’s increasingly collaborative run of music, pairing Jared Henry’s laid-back songwriting with Moon Taxi’s atmospheric indie-rock sound and melodic instincts. The track sits comfortably between reggae, indie, folk and acoustic music, continuing the genre-blurring approach that has helped Veni Sun find an audience across several different scenes.
Veni Sun is the San Diego-based project of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jared Henry. What began as a bedroom recording project in 2020 has gradually developed into something considerably larger. Henry’s official biography traces that growth back in part to a 2021 West Coast tour opening for Goth Babe, after which Veni Sun began releasing more music, landing Spotify editorial support and building a steadily growing live following.
Earlier this year, Veni Sun joined Surfer Girl on “County Line,” then linked with G. Love & Special Sauce for “Lake Song” in July. The digital “Visions” release also pairs the new Moon Taxi collaboration with “Lake Song,” effectively connecting two of Veni Sun’s highest-profile collaborations to date. “Lake Song” was originally released July 24 through Ineffable Records.
The live side of the project has also continued to expand. Veni Sun appeared at Reggae Rise Up Florida in March, joining a lineup that included Slightly Stoopid, Rebelution, Sublime, 311, Iration, SOJA, The Expendables, The Hip Abduction and others. He later joined The Hip Abduction at The Sound in Del Mar on July 10.
Moon Taxi, meanwhile, have several appearances still ahead in 2026. The Nashville five-piece will headline the Pensacola Seafood Festival on September 25 before joining Train at James Madison University’s Atlantic Union Bank Center on October 2. They will then head to sea for The Revivalists’ Otherside of Paradise At Sea cruise in November.
For Veni Sun, “Visions” adds another name to a growing list of collaborations while showing how naturally Henry’s understated approach can stretch across adjacent musical worlds.
