Watch: Dirty Heads Debut New Song ‘Bad Man’ at Cali Vibes

Dirty Heads debuted a new song during their recent set at the Cali Vibes festival, and just as frontman Jared Watson promised, the track was “fucking hard.”

“So we’re writing a new album right now,” Watson revealed to the crowd. “And when you write a new album you get really fucking excited to release the songs. Like, I just want to put them out tomorrow. We’re like, ‘Let’s put them out tomorrow, we all want to put them out cuz we’re super excited about them, right?’ Sometimes you can’t do that. But there’s one thing that nobody can tell us we can’t do, and that’s play those mother fuckers live. So this is an unreleased track off an unreleased album that we don’t know when it’s coming out. We just loved it so much that we wanted to play it for you guys. Hold onto your tits, it’s called ‘Bad Man.’”

Dirty Heads then launched into the tune, backed by pounding bass, emphatic percussion and a haunting hip hop beat. Very quickly it became obvious that “Bad Man” is one of the most aggressive tracks in Dirty Heads’ arsenal, with Watson and fellow singer Dustin Bushnell (aka Duddy) trading lines at a feverish pace. The song’s chorus chorus served as a musical middle finger to the sky, with the band proclaiming:

“I’m a bad man / Imma be in the sun but I hear no more / I’m a bad man / Saints to the sinners put your head on the floor / I’m a bad man / I say it again like I said it before / I’m a bad man / Hands to the ceiling while I kick in the door.”

“What do you think so far?” Watson asked the crowd after the second chorus, his question met with cheers from thousands if fans. “It’s pretty fuckin’ hard,” the frontman continued. “The whole album won’t be as hard, though. But we had to do it.” Watch Dirty Heads’ performance of “Bad Man” below.

Whenever Dirty Heads’ new album is released, it’ll mark the band’s first full-length release since 2022’s Midnight Control.
