We don’t need another reason to love Slightly Stoopid, but this certainly qualifies. During a recent performance in Irving, Texas, Kyle McDonald managed to light his joint using one of the band’s laser beams.
Admittedly, we’re a little bit late on this — the laser light up took place on July 12 — but that doesn’t make it any less cool. In the videos below you can see Kyle casually bend down to use the nearby beam to spark up his sizable jay. At first, it’s not clear if the plan is working, but sure enough moments later smoke begins billowing from the joint.
“Kyle said ‘Pass Me the Lazerbeam’ last night in Irvin, TX,” reads the post on Slightly Stoopid’s Instagram account, adding that McDonald “gave a whole new utility to the Slightly Stoopid light show.”
A separate angle of moment, recorded by Bubba Sells for Montane Studio, tells viewers: PLEASE DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME. It’s good advice given the potential dangers involved. Let’s leave the laser beam blunt lighting to the professionals, ok?
Slightly Stoopid is currently in the midst of their Step Into the Sun Summer tour, which also includes Iration and Little Stranger on the bill. Remaining dates run through September and include stops in Phoenix, Colorado Springs and Irvine, CA. Slightly Stoopid will also be performing at Reggae Rise Up in Vegas (Oct. 5) and Mission Bayfest in San Diego (Oct. 17).
