Reggae icon Ziggy Marley has released “Racism Is A Killa,” the second single from his upcoming studio album Brightside. The track arrived February 27 and serves as a pointed social statement timed with the closing days of both Black History Month and Reggae Month.
Brightside will be available exclusively on vinyl and CD for Record Store Day on April 18, with a full digital release set for May 1. The eight-song collection was co-produced by Ziggy and his brother Stephen Marley and recorded at Marley’s Rebel Lion Studio in Los Angeles.
The album also features collaborations with Nikka Costa, Trombone Shorty, Sheila E., and Jake Shimabukuro. According to release materials, the project was recorded using 432Hz tuning, a frequency sometimes associated with meditative and wellness practices.
In addition to “Racism Is A Killa,” Marley recently shared “Many Mourn For Bob,” a tribute to his father, Bob Marley. The forthcoming record continues Ziggy’s long tradition of socially conscious songwriting, pairing themes of justice and equality with introspective reflections on mental health and personal resilience.
Marley will support the album with a summer 2026 tour that includes stops at Jazz Fest in New Orleans on May 1, a June 21 performance at the Hollywood Bowl, a June 24 appearance at Red Rocks Amphitheatre for Kaya Fest, and dates across the U.S. and Canada through July. Select shows feature support from Burning Spear and J Boog, with additional special guests including Trombone Shorty and Thievery Corporation at various stops.
With Brightside, Ziggy Marley continues to extend a legacy rooted in activism and uplift while carving out a personal, reflective chapter of his own.
