The Movement
The Movement was founded in 2004 in Columbia, South Carolina and have had quite the ride of rotating members ever since. The group was initially started by Jordan Miller & Josh Swain, both vocalists & guitarists respectively. They later added Gary Jackson on Drums & Jason Schmidt on Bass. Josh Swain would later leave the band in 2010 and in 2012, vocalist & guitarist Jordan Miller would announce that he was leaving the band. From there, Josh Swain returned to the group with Gary Jackson & Jason Schmidt maintaining the back-line, while adding Brendan Dane, aka Alific, as DJ/Keys.
In 2013, after re-grouping, touring & recording, the band released their latest album Side By Side. Since then, The Movement has been moving forward with constant touring, sharing the stage with such acts as Steel Pulse, Slightly Stoopid, The Wailers, G Love and Special Sauce, SOJA and 311.
This is The Pier’s first time featuring The Movement for a Meet N Greet and regardless of their line-up shuffle, they’re headed in the right direction as they continue to actively tour & produce new music. Not only will you be treated to their live-set, but a Meet N Greet as well. Come by The Pier Booth from 3:30-4:00pm to Meet N Greet the group on Sunday during the festival!
